I hope you have gotten to enjoy the rodeo this year. My family has been a couple of nights and we really had a great time.
There is lots going on in July. I'm especially looking forward to the events on the 4th. Did you know that John Adams believed that July 2nd was the correct day to celebrate Independence Day? Supposedly, he even turned down invitations to July 4th events because of this. The Continental Congress voted for independence on July 2nd, but it was not formally adopted until July 4th.
In Steamboat, we start celebrating on Thursday and don't quit till Saturday night. On Thursday, July 3rd, The Ski Jumping Extravaganza starts at 9:00 am and ends at 12:00 pm at Howelsen Hill. That night, starting at 7:30 pm, we have the Ranch Rodeo. Don't miss the first round of bull riding! This all takes place at Brent Romick Arena.
On Fiday morning at 10:00, there is a big Fourth of July Parade in downtown Steamboat. The Rodeo kicks off at 6:30 pm at Romick Arena and a firework show starts at 9:00 pm at Howelsen Hill. The firework show is always a fun thing to watch!
Saturday night there is more of the rodeo to enjoy! And at the base of Steamboat ski area, Frozen will be shown for the Movies on the Mountain Series.
Hope to see some of you out enjoying the 4th this weekend!
