Over the labor day weekend, Steamboat Springs held it's 2nd annual Color Fun Run....and this was the 2nd time my daughter ran in it. Rain or shine, the participants run/walk in either the 1 or 3 mile event. This year it was on September 1st and started at 11:00 am on the Rodeo Grounds.The Color used is non-toxic colored corn-starch. It's safe and...well...very colorful. Most participants choose white to wear because the color shows up better on it. My daughter wears sunglasses to protect her eyes. Some people wear goggles.
If you want to keep your hair clean...you might want to wear some kind of cover like a bandanna. My daughter likes to go ALL IN...so hair gets colored too. If you've got light colored hair like my daughter, you might want to use some leave-in conditioner. Afterwards, get all the dry powder out of your hair and everything else (clothes, shoes, teeth...) before you add cold water. Then add LOTS of water...it's going to take a few rinsings to get it all out.
If you missed the Color Fun Run this year, don't despair...you can always run next year at the 3rd annual Color Fun Run!
