| Crossing the finish line with a girl's best friend |
My daughter participated in the Girls On The Run Race on Saturday, November 1st. We got there early, thankfully, because there had to have been around 1,000 runners! The race started promptly at 11:00 am.
Thankfully it was a nice day because we were told that the race would take place rain, shine, or snow! The runners looked like they were having a great time, and I enjoyed catching up with my friends while I waited for my daughter to finish the race.
If you don't know about Girls on The Run, let me tell you just a little about it. The girls meet a couple of times a week in a small group to learn life skills. The lessons are fun and are taught by certified coaches. They learn about understanding themselves, valuing their relationships and teamwork, and understanding how they connect and shape the world.
At the end of each session there is a 5K run for the girls and their running buddies. This Saturday was the run. My daughter loves being part of GOTR!
