August new-home sales in the U.S. reached it's highest level in over six years. Sales of new single-homes jumped 18 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 504,000 according to a report by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development.
The average sales price in August 2014 of new houses sold was $347,900. The median sales price was $275,600.
